Question: How does lighting affect the narrative of the piece?
Idea: This painting was inspired by stage lighting. I wanted to show intense light that illuminates the face of the subject. The direct lighting shows that the subject is using the light (the spotlight) for personal attention.
Materials: Acrylic on masonite, sketched with pencil.
Process: I sketched the contour line with pencil first, then painted with acrylic in layers.
