The Black Dot

A few days ago, we did an experiment. We put two paper towels with one black dot on each one. We put the dots in water and waited. One dot spread out into various colours, and the other stayed the same, a black dot. We decided that they must have been different types of ink. We tried a few different types of ink (plus food colouring and coloured markers) to test this theory.

Original Spread Out Dot

Before Dipped in Water

After Dipped in Water

Zebra Pen - We think this was one of the markers used in the first experiment because it was the only one that stayed in place as a black dot.
Coloured epu3 markers - We do not think that more than one marker was used in the first experiment because it did not spread in the same way the first one did.
Black epu3 Marker - We also do not think this marker was used, because it did not spread out the same way the original one did.
Mr. Sketch Marker - We think this marker was used for the original dot because it spread out in a similar way, with the same colours and order.
Food Colouring - This one was not used because no matter how hard we tried, we could not make a black dot.
