Question: How does lighting affect the narrative of a portrait?
Idea: This piece was inspired by some lighting I saw in the Netflix show Lucifer that has the mystery of backlighting but highlights the eyes which bring more of a soul into the subject. It was also inspired by the portrait "George Moore" by Edouard Manet
Materials: Oil pastel on matteboard, sketched with pencil.
Process: I sketched the contour line with pencil first, and drew over it in oil pastel.
